Newborn Screening for Cystic Fibrosis: NEONATAL IRT Screening ELISA

The NEONATAL IRT Screening ELISA is an ELISA-type quantitative test that allows determination of the concentration of human immunoreactive trypsinogen (IRT). This test is for newborn screening of cystic fibrosis (CF) from blood samples dried on 903® and 226 type blotting paper.

Parameter Screened

  • ImmunoReactive Trypsinogen (IRT)

Test Principle

The NEONATAL IRT Screening ELISA for newborns is a sandwiched ELISA assay: anti-IRT antibodies capture the IRT present in the sample in the microplate and quantify by colorimetry. Thus, the measured absorbance signal intensity is proportional to the IRT concentration in the sample.
