Neonatal PAP: pancreatitis-associated-protein for cystic fibrosis in newborn

The NEONATAL PAP Screening ELISA is an ELISA-type quantitative test that allows determination of the concentration of pancreatitis-associated protein (PAP) in newborns. This second-line test is used as part of screening for cystic fibrosis (CF) in neonates, from blood samples dried on 903® or 226 type blotting paper.

Parameter Screened

  • Pancreatitis-associated protein (PAP)

Test Principle

The NEONATAL PAP Screening ELISA is a sandwich ELISA assay: anti-PAP antibodies allow both capture of the pancreatitis-associated protein present in the sample in the well of the microplate and quantification by colorimetry. Thus, the measured absorbance signal intensity is proportional to the concentration of PAP in the sample. .
